ALL the urges Empty ALL the urges

Post by Stachelschwein Fri May 03, 2013 7:20 pm

So many urges. I've drawn on my arm the things I need want to do but it's not enough. I need the actual wounds. I have an exam this afternoon and I won't be able to concentrate until I do it.

I don't want to throw away 9 months free, but ALL the freaking woe.

I have no idea what I want from this thread. Hugs?

Any ideas as to why you're urging so bad? Is it possibly because of the exam?

Have you tried the usual holding an ice cube against your skin/elastic band?
Hold onto those 9 months kiddo, you're doing fab x
p.s. remember to wash off what you've written else they could accuse you of cheating. With self-harm related words. Awkward.

Thank you for your reply Chelsey <3

It's definitely because of exams, although also a bit to do with the teaching I do, because I get really really cross with myself if I make a mistake or think I've come across badly to a new pupil. I legit just have a lot of feelings and don't know how to manage them.

I find the ice thing and elastic band thing quite helpful, I might use them more often.

And lol, I haven't written any words, so think I'm safe Razz

In other news, I've now gone back into my super-tired mode, where I have insufficient energy for the high level anxiety and anger that tends to fuel my biggest urges, so in a sense this tiredness is helpful!

How did the exam go? Sorry things are so woeful at the moment but kudos for acknowledging the cause and rationalising it. Are you going to do anything to celebrate the exam being over and done with?

    Thank you Pringles Smile

The first three exams have been a mixed bag- the last one was not so good. I have three exams left, and then after that I have a little break but will need to prepare for moving house and my teacher training, which starts at the end of June. So not really too much time for celebration!

Now that I've got a week or so without exams I'm feeling a little calmer and less urgey.

May help more than you'd think :-)

I need to cut so much. It's the only way to make this interpolation work.

You know it won't actually make it work? I know it feels like it, and I wish I could make that go away for you.
Any ideas on what you/we can do to help?

How are you doing right now Jenna? Jodie speaks wise words. If you're still experiencing ALL the urges then maybe you could step away from the revision for a while and try Chelsey's distraction ideas. You could try baking, having a primal scream, doing something creative, cuddling the other half of Union J! Razz I'm so sorry you're going through this but you have gotten through times like this in the past and you can do so again because as Jodie says giving in to the urges won't help but taking a break and doing something nice for yourself will. <3
